This is an EXCLUSIVE special from Sonic Electronix. There is NOTHING on the market that compares with this unit at $560. A brand name, double DIN DVD player with Built-in GPS Navigation for $550 and it's made in Japan, not China.
The Eclipse AVN52D is the AVN5510 but it was made for exclusive/premier installers only (thus the model difference). Eclipse premier dealers had a rough year due to the economy so they couldn't sell them at $1549.99 as planned. Because of that, Eclipse had overstock and we stepped up and bought the entire closeout from Eclipse. Eclipse is known in the industry for making the highest quality electronics and the AVN52D is no exception.
The Eclipse AVN52D comes with a 1-year warranty with an optional 3-year warranty if installed by an Eclipse dealer!

I had this product in my 06 tahoe and I used the navigation a lot. Even thorough it didn't come with the U.S. map I had found one and It helped me on all my trips. The dvd quality is amazing and the feature that only plays when you park is perfect for safety.

I received the eclipse 5510 for christmas from my wife and what a great head unit. I put it in a 2006 toyota tacoma double cab and with the dash kit it fit perfectly. The pro's that I really like about it is the tilt screen so I can make it a flush mount. It is pretty user friendly but I wish the directions manual was more in depth on each of the functions than it is. Some really good features is it adapted to my truck nicely and I was able to keep my factory steering wheel controls. I also like the fact that I can watch d.v.d's without the parking brake applied. Sonic electronix sent the wrong wiring harness with it but the installation place had one so no big deal. I also wish it had a fuction that would let me turn off my pre-amp outputs like the pioneer models do but I will keep messing with it till I get it just right. All in all, I am very pleased with this unit and would strongly recommend it.

This unit works flawlessly for me here in Ontario Canada.
My only gripes with the unit are as follows:
The address function should default to the current city, as opposed to every city in the database. I know I can specify the city first, and then add the address, but for my purposes, most of GPS requests are within the same city I'm currently in. I admit this is a small gripe.
The auto-reroute is fast, but not as fast as my ipaq gps system.
My concerns about requiring the parking brake to enter in new addresses was quickly relieved... for some reason it sounded worse than it really is. With the speed pulse sensor installed, the map will let you change addresses as long as your car is moving slower than 5 mph. (in my car anyway)
This product has impressed my non-technical wife as well... which translates to her using the thing successfully 99% of the time. If you are married and want a unit that will pass the 'wife test', this is the one.

Overall the Eclipse AVN-5510 works as promised. Very expandable system, hope to add a backup camera.
Pros:
- Large screen is great, looks like a factory installed nav system in our 2000 Lexus ES300
- iPod integration is good
- navigation works well in metro areas
- straight forward installation using Metra adapter harness and double DIN scosche kit
Cons:
- we have taken several trips in rural areas where vocal turn by turn guidance is not available
- iPod playlist searching is disabled while parking brake is disengaged (Eclipse calls it a safety feature)
- no FM radio station text display (at least I haven't figured this out yet)

I need to up grade my speakers and maybe find the TV tuner/satilite TV set up and I will be complete!! Highly recommend this unit!
