This mono CX-Series Amp is now one-ohm stable, giving you even more wiring options for your system! The Class-D CXA1200.1 features a variable bass boost with KickEQ, giving you as much as a 6dB of extra bump. A powerful 12dB crossover and 24dB subsonic filter is included, letting you quickly tune your system to perfection. From your dash, a simple turn of the optional Remote Bass Controller (sold separately) increases your output to fit your choice of music. CX-Series Amplifiers accept up to 40 volts (400 watts) of speaker-level input signal. This kind of flexibility both makes line-out converters unnecessary and optimizes your sound quality at the same time!

My amplifier turns on (green LED), but the subwoofer isn’t producing any sound. What should I check?

Check the Gain and Crossover settings. If the Low Pass Filter (LPF) is set too low (e.g., below 50Hz), it may filter out all audible bass. Also, ensure your RCA cables are plugged into the Input jacks, not the Output.

The "Protection" LED is flashing Red. How do I reset it?

This is usually a Low Impedance or Short Circuit error. Disconnect the speaker wires from the amp. If the light stays Red, it’s a power/ground issue. If it turns Green, your subwoofer wiring is below 2-ohms or a wire is touching metal.

Can I install this amp without running a "Remote Turn-on" wire to my radio?

Yes. This amp features FIT+ (Fail-safe Integration Technology). Switch the "Vertical" toggle to DC Offset if using speaker-level inputs; the amp will sense the radio's voltage and turn on automatically when the music starts.

My amp gets extremely hot and shuts off after 15 minutes. Is it defective?

Probably not. This is Thermal Protection. Ensure the amp has at least 2 inches of clearance on all sides for airflow. If it's mounted vertically, ensure the fins are positioned vertically so heat can rise and dissipate naturally.

What is the best way to set the Gain without a professional distortion tool?

Kicker amps are designed to work with their CXARC Remote (sold separately). Without it, turn your radio to 75% volume, then slowly turn the Gain up until the bass starts to sound "muddy" or "clipped," then back it off 1/8th of a turn.

Can I wire a 1-ohm subwoofer load to this CXA1200.1?

No. This amplifier is stable down to 2-ohms only. Wiring a 1-ohm load will cause the amp to overheat, enter Protection Mode, or sustain permanent internal damage. Always verify your sub's final impedance with a multimeter.

Why does the bass sound "weak" when using the factory radio speaker wires?

Ensure the "Input Level" switch is set to HI. If it’s set to LO while receiving a high-voltage signal from speaker wires, the internal preamp will "clip" early, resulting in poor, distorted, or weak output.

What gauge power wire is required for this 1200W RMS amplifier?

You must use a 1/0-gauge or high-quality 4-gauge OFC (Oxygen-Free Copper) wiring kit. Using thin or "CCA" (Copper Clad Aluminum) 4-gauge wire will starve the amp of current, causing voltage drops and potential fire hazards.

I bought a new single kicker L7Q 12" in the loaded kicker box and orignally bought a MTX jackhammer 1001 amp.... Right out of the box, the MTX didnt work... so I swapped it from my local car audio guys (where I bought it) for this! Oh boy I am glad I did. This amp ROCKS. matches frequency response on my sub perfectly (20-200hz). i swear this thing DOSE NOT get hot. I have the gain a little under half and I couldnt be happier. Glad I dropped the extra money. Everyone says kicker is over priced but I disagree. This set is louder than any system i have had. I just came off of 2 10" audio pipes with a 1000w RMS audio pipe amp and this just crushes it. There is no comparison.

Very powerful Amplifier

To be honest I was worried about fraud considering this amp was so cheap. But it was delivered early and in pristine condition. I hooked it up and was not disappointed. Highly recommend this amp, I'm running 2 Compr in a kicker ported box wired to 2ohms and it rocks the block!

Excellent amp for the price!

First purchased this amp to drive (4) 07CVR124 subs that I bought brand new many years ago. They sounded great in the 1 cu ft net per sub in a sealed enclosure. So I decided I wanted to try a ported enclosure. So I built a net 2.25 cu ft per sub enclosure tuned to 37.75 hz. I soon realized this was too much for my older subwoofers. So I decided to purchase (4) 47CWR124 compR subs and installed them in the same ported enclosure. WOW...they really sound amazing. More bass than I ever expected for this combination.

Solid power

This amp does exactly what is says and puts out 1200 watts at both 1&2 ohm which is nice for multiple types of set ups to get you that clean power. The amp has a default 25hz subsonic filter which makes for one less tuning adjustment. I have this amp installed in two of my vehicles!
